Activate payment methods (TWINT, cards, wallets)

July 30, 2026

How to activate TWINT, cards, wallets, and other payment methods in the FlowAlp Pay dashboard, including acquiring contracts and test mode.

Once your account is verified, you decide which payment methods your customers see. Methods are activated centrally in the FlowAlp Pay dashboard and then apply everywhere: hosted checkout, pay links and QR codes, plugins, and API-created Gateways.

Supported payment methods

Which payment methods you can activate — and under which conditions and fees — depends on your account configuration and the contracts linked to your account. The dashboard shows the methods available to you; if a method you need is missing, contact support before promising it in your shop.

Acquiring and contracts

Card and wallet payments require an acquiring relationship: an agreement that defines who processes the payments and settles the funds to you. In general terms there are two setups:

  • Acquiring through the platform — you activate the method directly from the dashboard; an additional review of your business may be part of the activation.
  • Your own provider contract — you hold a contract with an external payment provider or acquirer and connect it to FlowAlp Pay with the credentials from that provider. Some methods, such as PayPal, always run through your own account with that provider.

Activate a method in the dashboard

  1. Sign in at your tenant URL (for example https://demo-shop.pay.flowalp.com).
  2. Open the payment methods or payment provider configuration in the dashboard settings.
  3. Activate the method you want to offer, or connect your external provider with its credentials.
  4. Complete any contract or review steps requested for that method.
  5. Once active, the method appears automatically on your payment pages.

Test what you activated

Before going live, switch the method to test mode and run through a payment yourself — without moving real money. See Testing for developers and Test cards and scenarios.

Restrict methods for a specific payment

By default, the checkout offers every activated method. When you create a Gateway through the API you can narrow the selection for that specific payment with the pm parameter — useful, for example, to offer only TWINT for a QR campaign. See Payment methods and Create a Gateway.
